If in the past, berth capacity or fleet size were the deciding factors for a company's position, today, the ability to connect seaports, logistics centers, warehousing systems, and links within the supply chain is what creates a sustainable competitive advantage. Following this trend, Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) consistently pursues the motto: "Enhancing system connectivity, promoting cooperation, and investment." The two cooperation signing events of Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) and Tan Cang - Cai Mep Terminal (TCCT) this past June are concrete steps contributing to the realization of the sustainable development strategy and enhancing the competitive capacity of the entire SNP system.
“Cooperation” is the New Driving Force of the Seaport and Logistics Industry
In recent years, the global maritime and logistics industry has continuously faced unprecedented fluctuations. From supply chain disruptions following the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical tensions in key regions, to fluctuations on international maritime routes and the restructuring trend of global logistics networks, businesses are not only under pressure regarding costs and transit times but must also quickly adapt to increasing demands for flexibility, connectivity, and sustainable development.
In this context, competitive advantage is no longer determined by the scale of a single port or the capacity of an individual enterprise. Instead, it increasingly depends on the ability to link various nodes throughout the entire supply chain. Building a synchronized logistics ecosystem, strengthening cooperation, sharing resources, and leveraging collective strength have become the development trends for many of the world's leading port operators and logistics corporations.
Instead of developing individual units independently, SNP aims to maximize the internal strength of the entire system while expanding links with partners to complete the port and logistics ecosystem, creating a foundation for sustainable growth. This orientation has been consistently implemented by SNPacross many fields.
Enhancing Operational Capacity at Lach Huyen Port Cluster
On June 19, 2026, Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal Co., Ltd. (TC-HICT) and TIL Haiphong International Terminal Co., Ltd. (HTIT) officially signed a Coordinated Vessel Operations Agreement for cases where vessels encroach upon adjacent areas. This marks a new milestone in the cooperation between the two port operators in the Lach Huyen deep-water port area, Hai Phong.
Under the agreement, both parties will flexibly coordinate during the reception and handling of large-sized vessels that require the use of adjacent infrastructure. This ensures maritime safety, optimizes berth utilization efficiency, and maintains operational independence for each enterprise.
Actively promoting coordination mechanisms and expanding cooperation with regional partners further demonstrates TC-HICT's development orientation toward strengthening connectivity, enhancing operational efficiency, and adding value for customers. This move also aligns with SNP strategy to develop its seaport and logistics ecosystem in the Northern region.
Cooperation in Developing and Operating Logistics Infrastructure in the Cai Mep Area
On June 26, 2026, Tan Cang - Cai Mep Joint Stock Company (TCCT) held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Agreement on the cooperation, development, and operation of logistics infrastructure with Do Thanh Auto Joint Stock Company (Do Thanh Auto), Habitat Living Environment Joint Stock Company (Habitat), and Number One Investment and Design Consultancy Joint Stock Company (IDC1).
Under the agreement, the parties will coordinate to research, invest in, and develop a system of warehouses, container yards, logistics centers, connectivity infrastructure, transportation services, freight forwarding, stevedoring, distribution, and various other supporting services. These are all critical links in modern supply chains, contributing to the completion of an integrated logistics ecosystem and adding service value for customers. Moving beyond the efficient utilization of existing infrastructure, the cooperation among TCCT, Do Thanh Auto, Habitat, and IDC1 also aims to form synchronized logistics solutions that connect seaports to their hinterlands, and transport systems to goods distribution.
