(VLR) Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway, Thung Thi Tunnel and other projects have been under urgent construction by Deoca Group. In difficulties, they have affirmed their value- a bright spot in the map of Vietnam’s transport infrastructure.

Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway will serve people in Tet

The Management Board of Trung Luong - My Thuan project said tthe implementation volume so far has reached about 85% of the progress, contractors are rushing to construct asphalt carpets, ITS systems, lighting electricity, median strips, fences... On the route connecting National Route1 and Cai Lay intersection branch (under package XL-10) there are still 280m of unqualified unloading, expected by December 2021, the Management Board will organize the assessment of settlement monitoring results to consider and decide to terminate or continue to maintain load retention until the conditions for unloading are satisfied. The extension of load retention time to treat soft ground is to ensure the quality and safety technical requirements of the project.

Although the project has faced many difficulties in terms of materials, especially under negative impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic, so far the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway has been gradually being completed to reach the finish line by the end of this year, serving people on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2022.

Ho Minh Hoang - President of the Board of Directors of Deoca Group, directed not to collect toll during proposed period, the Board of Management should study solutions of placing weighing stations to control loads with photo recorded for dealing with feedbacks. “What belongs to the project’s responsibilities, we will handle them immediately. And what belongs to consciousness of road users, we are calling for people’s cooperation to make the road better and keep it safe for a long time”, said Hoang.

Hoang added on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2021, when allowing vehicles to travel on the Trung Luong - My Thuan Express, there were many discussions and concerns about safety. But the congestion on the National Route 1 also makes people tired and there would be more risks of accidents than traveling on the expressway with control. The fact of allowing motorbikes to travel safely through Hai Van Tunnel when people traveled to their hometown from epidemicaffected area was unprecedented in the world and in Vietnam as well.

Projects invested and implemented by Deoca are oriented to serve the community, always upholding safety and convenience, towards people’s safer and more prosperous life.

After 11 months of intense construction, at exactly 15:00 on November 19, 2021, the last part of the right branch of Thung Thi tunnel (package XL-12) was opened. Thung Thi is one of the longest tunnels of the East North-South Expressway project, which is considered a complex item, requiring very high technical requirements.

Representative of Thang Long Project Management Board - Ho Ngoc Loan highly appreciated the work results of the contractor consortium and expressed: “Deoca Group has mobilized workers and machines very methodically and and all things were on schedule, meeting project quality requirements. Today, the tunnel being opened is a very important premise to gradually complete Thung Thi tunnel. We highly appreciate the construction capacity and thank the Group”.

The tunnel opened is important for speeding up the overall progress of the package and the project, helping to shorten the distance between construction points, thereby facilitating transport and mobilization of machinery and equipment, supplies and materials for construction of items.

According to the design, the package number 12-XL has a route length of 6.6km, of which Thung Thi tunnel is 680m, the right tunnel has been excavated, the left tunnel is completed 545/648m. It is expected to be excavated through on December 2021. The tunnel is constructed in NATM method, a permanent work with the scale of 03 motor vehicle lanes and 01 pedestrian lane, fully arranged lighting and ventilation system in the tunnel. The works on the route have the starting point at Km301+000 in Ha Tien commune, and the end point at Km307+600 in Ha Linh commune (Ha Trung district, Thanh Hoa). After day and night efforts to exceed the schedule, now the right branch of the tunnel has been completed.

To prepare for the construction of the tunnel, Deoca Group mobilized the most modern drilling machines and tunneling machines, which have served in the construction of the projects of Co Ma, Deo Ca tunnels, Cu Mong tunnels… Besides there have been many experienced personnel in tunneling work to achieve the required schedule. Currently, the bidding package is organizing 8 construction projects, including 4 roads, 2 bridges and 2 tunnels. To fully implement the works in tunnel construction, the project management board deployed 3 working shifts a day with more than 150 employees and many specialized modern machines and equipment.

However, during the construction process, the contractor encountered many difficulties, especially the COVID-19 epidemic, which greatly affected the mobilization of machinery and personnel. However, with great determination, the project management has gradually overcome bottlenecks, speed up progress, and ensure the set plan.

In the context of complicated happenings of the COVID-19 epidemic, Deoca Group has had flexible response, ensuring labor safety and well implemented the “dual target” while ensuring construction progress and effective disease prevention for safety of workers in the system.

Thung Thi Tunnel has had its new appearance day by day. Difficulties of personnel shortage have also been overcome with ceaseless efforts from the Project Management Board, engineers and workers. Deoca Group confidently brings the bidding package of 12-XL to its destination at the beginning of 2022.
