DIC 4: Growing up by prestige

(VLR) Development Investment Construction J.S. Corporation (DIC GROUP) which belongs to Vietnam Construction Industry Corporation has many subsidiary and association companies operating independently and suitably with the corporations growth, among which a familiar trademark that has conquered not only domestic market of the provinces but also successfully approached the Southeast provinces. It is DIC 4s Vinawindow trademark.

DIC 4 was formed in 1994 with its former name Constructional Materials Trading Enterprise belonging to Development Investment Construction J.S. Corporation, now DIC Group. In 2000, the enterprise was renamed as No.4 Construction Enterprise. In December, 2004, the Ministry of Construction issued a decision to change it into Development Investment Construction J.S. Corporation (DIC 4).

MULTI-INDUSTRY COMMERCIAL

A subsidiary of DIC Group, DIC 4 locates its headquarter in Vung Tau City and its branch in HCM City with regulation capital of VND 50 billions. It takes multi-industry business, mainly in 3 areas: constructing the buildings, investing and developing the industrial zone projects, and manufacturing high-class steel core products with Vinawindow trademark.

After 17 years of operation, with its prestige in execution remarkable works such as: Ba Ria - Vung Tau General Hospital, An Sinh Hospital, Tumor Hospital, 21-floor Chi Linh Apartment Building, 13-floor Van Anh Hotel in Vung Tau City, the Administrative Center of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Apartment Building at 348 Trinh Dinh Trong, HCM City, Agriculture and Rural Development Bank in Tan Phu District, HCM City, etc. DIC 4 has become a strong trademark in construction industry, especially in constructing high buildings not only within the province but also the whole Southeast area.

Just within the first 6 months of 2011, DIC 4 won contracts and started many big works such as Southern Food General Company office building in HCM City whichs worth VND 57.5 billion; Dai Phuoc Long Lotus in Dong Nai whichs worth VND 68.8 billion; Son Nguyen Hotel, Vung Tau (frame part) whichs worth VND 8.1 billion. Most recently, early in July, 2011, DIC 4 won contract to level ground and construct the library block of HCMC University of Finance - Marketing whichs worth VND 75.4 billion, with the duration of 512 days.

Apart from the construction major, DIC 4 also deployed investment into many projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau such as the High-class Residential Quarters Go Cat, Long Dien, Phuoc Long 1; 56 ha Tam Phuoc Industrial Group.

Especially, in the early 2007, DIC 4 launched Vinawindow products that make a strong competitive wave with the same kind of imported products, not only conquering the domestic market, but also reaching across the whole Southeastern areas. After four operating years, Vinawindow is more and more affirming its trademark together with familiar DIC 4 trademark, becoming a prestigious product to the customers.

But it doesnt stop there. When Tam Phuoc Industrial Zone (IZ) is finished, with its function as a clean IZ drawing high tech and support tech, it will attract more secondary investors to help Ba Ria - Vung Tau to develop support tech industry. DIC 4 is supposed to aim to strong development with multi-industry business.

ENSURING STRONG GROWTH SPEED

To mark the clear development and improve trademark promotion ability, DIC 4 went public in the stock market in 2008; its code is DC4-HNX.

While the economic crisis in 2008 put a heavy pressure on the real estate market, DIC 4 still ensured its growth, with the growth speed after privatization at 43%/year.

When the crisis happened, we tried to find its reason and analyze the situation, and then checked our projects, deployed only realizable ones and temporarily postponed the ones that had no financial resources yet, said Mr. Le Dinh Thang, DIC 4s Director.

AS a result, in 2010, the company growth was 70% compared with that in 2009, the income increased 67%. IN the first half of 2011, DIC 4 gained output value of VND 148.4 billion, 47% of the plan of 2011.

In 2011, DIC 4 approved business plan with total output value of VND 260 billion, 104% compared with that in 2010; total income of VND 190 billion, 105% compared with that in 2010; after tax profit is VND 10 billion, 94% compared with that in 2010; dividend from 15 to 18%.

With its gained prestige, DIC 4 won two Trademark Gold Cups in Construction -Real Estate in the international fair Vietbuild HCM City in 2009 and 2010.

With its criteria of quality - rate of progress - labor safety, DIC 4 always put its prestige on the top, this is also its secret to win the contracts and its more and more development.

With more than 800 employees, DIC 4 has been going further and further, affirming its position in the integration and development with its growing and professional operation.
