(Vietnam Logistics Review)On 29th November 2016, in Ho Chi Minh, International Logistics Co. (Interlog) and Maruzen Densan Logistics Corporation (Maruzen Densan) – Japan has signed the strategic cooperation document in building new warehouse areas (new consolidation hub) in TBS Logistics (Di An, Binh Duong province). This collaboration was based on the strength of both sides, including consolidation (consol) of break bulk cargos like Interlog or Maruzen Densan and experiences as well as customer relations in both the North and the South’s markets.
Discussing with us, the representative from leaders of InterLOG and Maruzen Densan acknowledged about an idea and determination of formation of new consolidation hub and TBS logistics is a chosen partner due to its most proper place and position. We recognized and expected that this new hub would help to lessen congestion and stagnation of goods consolidated daily at Cat Lai port. This place has been considered as a “hot pot” causing a stop of goods forwarding and transport demands of citizens here for a long time as well as influencing economically on import- export procedures, especially break - bulk cargos at CFS warehouse. Based on statistic data and report of specialized agencies, on a 7-km long road at the gate of Cat Lai port, there are about 17,000 moves of vehicles per day, mostly heavy trucks and trailer with containers, so that it easily leads to traffic congestion and cargo stagnation in about 3 -4 hours here. Consequently, this causes a range of fees incurred due to the loss during the time waiting for cargos releases at the port and time stuck in traffic jam..., affecting directly on processing of goods/ customers’ orders.
Mr.Nguyen Duy Minh - General Director of INTERLOG and Ms.Nguyen THi Vui - General Director of TBS Logistics at the new cargo consolidation area
In fact, according to our survey and positioning – TBS Logistics has very important location when connecting with many industrial zones (IZ) surrounded such as AMATA, Long Thanh, Song Than, VSIP etc. and the high-tech zones like Linh Trung IZ of Ho Chi Minh city. The distance from these IZs to TBS Logistics is from 6 – 8km on average. With this point, shipment costs could be reduced by 20% in comparison with current costs at Cat Lai port. Also, with the area of 135,000m2 equipped with full functions and infrastructure of one international standardized CFS having local customs unit (Binh Duong customs), cargos here can be fully processed though a standard procedure as the same in anywhere else, satisfying all assurance requirements on cargo quality, time and costs for clients.
Having good offers about infrastructure, time forwarding and transport costs in TBS Logistics, the services here are divided in different routes and provided weekly.
Services of retail cargos at new place, TBS Logistics, not only create interests for goods owners, producers in the region but also provide standard environment for the service operation of freight forwarders who have demands on retail goods in common routes in this region.
