Dear readers,

Our economy time is not yet thriving as we expect, but according to experts, competition abilities of Vietnam logistics are getting better. Our 79th issue will share with you information of the sector.

The trend of liberalizing logistics service market has proved itself suitable to the needs of Vietnam import-export market. Although there is not a synchronous planning for logistics service development, provinces with logistics potential and advantages as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, BR-VT, HCMC are bright sports of the sector. Close attention and proper guidance from local authorities now will contribute to the economic development of the Southern area in the future. In May 2014, the conference of Developing Logistics Service in Dong Nai Province is the first salvo, providing directions for Dong Nai and Eastern provinces to make good use of their economic resources for the future.

In another point of view, the lack of reliability in supply chains make logistics cost in Vietnam, including warehousing cost, higher than that of neighbor regional countries. And experts have already suggested resolutions to improve efficiency of the warehousing sector: for better integration and door-opening, there should be measure to make good use of potential opportunities and upgrading the current seaport systems, policies to develop container and bulk cargo fleets, investments in logistics human resource, and risk reduction in supply chains. We do need all these actions when entering the global play ground.
