(VLR) In the morning of July 11th,2012 a launching ceremony of the 1st International Sea Port Festival, 2012 – at Kim Do Hotel, Dist.1, HCMC, hold by the People’s Committee of Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Long Mai Global Trading Corporation (LOMA). Being present in the ceremony is Mr. Hoang Anh Tuan- Member of Central Committee, the Minister of Culture – Sports & Tourism, Head of Steering Committee; Mr. Ho Van Nen – Vice Chairman the People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Head of the Board of Organization; Mr. Tran Van Thong – Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Deputy Head of Standing Board; Ms. Mai Thi Kim Chung, General Director of LOMA, Deputy Head of the Board of Organization; together with guests and the press.

The 1st International Sea Port Festival in Vietnam is a significant and meaningful event to Vietnam in the trend of integration and development. This is a special event that marks the target in the development strategy of Vietnam sea ports with orientation to 2020 and vision to 2030. It is also an event that highlights the leading role of Vietnam maritime economy, raising public awareness of the country’s sea and island sovereignty for both local people and international community as well.

In a brief exchange, Ms. Mai Kim Chung –General Director of LOMA- said:” We have an honor to be the one who hold such a big event in Vietnam for the first time – an event of international stature. We also hope that by the event, investors, businesspeople and operators in the maritime sector, logistics and sea port, and human resources training will have new information, new orientations of development, and new co-operations that meet requirements in the period of integration to global economy. This is also an opportunity of raising Vietnam position in the world community.

The 1st International Sea Port Festival in Vietnam, 2012 will last for 3 days, from November 10-12th , 2012 in Vung Tau city with 8 main activities:

1/ Welcoming Carnival with the theme “For Peace in the East Sea”;
2/ Fair and Exhibition of international and Vietnam seaports, liners, and logistics providers;
3/ Golf Tournament for delegates and guests for fund-raising “For Beloved Truong Sa”;
4/ Opening Ceremony;
5/ Technology show “Light Garden”;
6/ Conference and Internatinal Forum on the development orientation of Vietnam seaports and sea-port cities;
7/ Concert “Hello to Vietnam Sea”;
8/ Closing Ceremony- Dinner Gala with the theme “The Colors of Vietnamese Sea”.
