Mercedes-Benz officially launches the FUSO brand in Vietnam

The “Tripod” spirit of FUSO

With a more than 80-year brand heritage, the FUSO brand has become known for its high quality standard, fuel-efficient, durable products and committed customer service. Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) in Japan, one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, is an integral part of Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA). In July 2014, MBV officially became the exclusive importer, manufacturer and distributor of FUSO trucks in the Vietnamese market.

Mercedes-Benz Vietnam officially launched the FUSO brand in Vietnam on October 9th 2014 under a new organization and brand identity. Henceforward, Mercedes-Benz has become the exclusive importer, manufacturer and distributor for all FUSO products in the Vietnam market. This brand launch was witnessed by the top officials from Daimler Trucks Asia, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam’s (MBV) management and 250 distinguished guests from the Vietnamese government, press, and business partners.

FUSO Canter – Power comes from the friendliness

Appearing on the truck market more than 50 years, the FUSO Canter affirmed the value of the brand in and around the world. With 19 years in Vietnam, the FUSO Canter was one of Light-duty-truck receiving the credibility of the business and individual client in truck market. In 2013, 761 FUSO Canter were sold in Vietnam, up 68% compared with 2012.

The FUSO Canter is designed with user-friendly orientation in mind. The cabin is able to tilt forward providing easy access to engine and powertrain. The gear-shifter is located on a central console and the hand-brake is installed nicely on the right of the driver seat which allows for an easy driving condition for drivers. The steering wheel is flexible thus being able to rise or descend in a vertical position for 60 mm or horizontal for 84 mm. With an extended cabin, adjustable backrest, opening door angle, and wider stair, drivers will find driving Canter as comfort as driving a passenger car.

FUSO Fighter – As strong as its name

With the appearance of Fighter in the Medium-duty-truck segment. The Fighter came to Vietnam market with two variants Fighter 16 & Fighter 16SL.

As its name inplies, the Fighter is powered by the turbo-charged 6D16-3AT2 engine that produce 637Nm of torque at very low 1400 rpm. With nearly 220 hp inside, this water-cooled inline 6 cylinders engine can boost the power even at full load. The sturdy chassis is also built with no protruding parts to simplify installing the body according to customer’s choice.

FUSO Tractor – Maximum reliable at maximum load

Mercedes-Benz Vietnam also introduced the FUSO Tractor FV 517 with gross combine weight from 44-48 tons to Vietnam market. FUSO Tractor FV 517 is equipped with the 6D24-0AT2 engine – one of the most reliable and powerful engines for heavy-duty trucks on market. The aluminum transmission makes smooth-shifting lighter as well as to disperse heat more efficiently. With this powertrain, the FUSO Tractor FV 517 is easy for maintenance and strong cost savings.
