On this occasion, Vietnam Logistics Review (VLR) had a special interview with Mrs. Chen Lin – Secretary General of the Guangzhou Logistics Profession Association (GZLPA) – who plays a key role in fostering exchanges and cooperation between Guangzhou logistics enterprises and international counterparts.

Mrs. Chen Lin, could you share the highlights of the 2025 China (Guangzhou) International Transport Technology and Equipment Expo and the Guangzhou International Intelligent Robot Expo?

Mrs. Chen Lin: This year’s exhibition, held from May 21 to 23 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex (Area D), covered an area of over 50,000 square meters and attracted nearly 600 enterprises from around the world. As the 16th edition, the event gathers the most advanced solutions in logistics and smart robotics, deeply connecting global value chains and promoting industry cooperation.

A unique feature of this year's event is the integration of modern logistics technologies with intelligent robotics, showcasing solutions that optimize supply chains and enhance operational efficiency. Participating companies will have access to cutting-edge technologies—from smart warehouse systems to autonomous robots and automated production solutions.

What is the core objective of this event?

"The key to development is no longer just scale, but effective connectivity within a globalized ecosystem." – Mrs. Chen Lin, Secretary General of GZLPA

Mrs. Chen Lin: We will comprehensively showcase cutting-edge equipment and technologies across various sectors, including logistics system integration, AGV/AMR mobile robots, forklifts and intelligent loading systems, conveyor sorting, and logistics packaging. Tailored to support the digital and intelligent transformation of internal logistics systems in manufacturing industries, we provide one-stop innovative solutions for the entire smart manufacturing and intelligent warehousing process.

Concurrent Event — Guangzhou International Intelligent Robot Exhibition 2025, co-organized by Hannover Milano Fairs China and the Guangdong Robotics Association, will gather cutting-edge products such as humanoid robots and industrial robots. A dedicated "Star Avenue Show" interactive zone will feature dynamic demonstrations and immersive experiences presented by leading innovative enterprises.

What technologies will be showcased at the expo?

Mrs. Chen Lin: We will feature smart warehouse systems, automated guided vehicles (AGV/AMR), humanoid robots, unmanned delivery vehicles, automated sorting lines, digital factories, and blockchain technology in supply chain management.

Notably, the exhibition will highlight AI and IoT-integrated solutions for warehouse and transport management, improving forecasting capabilities and optimizing operations. Emerging technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) will also be presented to support logistics training and simulation.

What business networking activities will take place during the expo?

Mrs. Chen Lin: Beyond the exhibition, we will organize supply-demand matchmaking sessions, B2B networking events, and site visits to leading smart logistics equipment companies on May 23.

Specialized seminars featuring top industry experts will share insights and experiences on logistics and robotics development trends. These are valuable opportunities for learning and exploring cooperation prospects.

What role does GZLPA play in this exhibition?

Mrs. Chen Lin: Our association co-organizes and sponsors trade activities, thematic seminars, and encourages member participation. This is also a chance for us to showcase China's logistics capabilities internationally.

We also play a vital role in connecting domestic and international enterprises, facilitating information exchange, experience sharing, and long-term cooperation.

What sectors are GZLPA members currently investing in?

Mrs. Chen Lin: We’re seeing strong investments in warehouse robotics, AI in logistics management, autonomous vehicles, and cold chain logistics. Many members are also expanding into Southeast Asia, especially Vietnam due to its high growth potential and strategic location.

There’s also a focus on green logistics, with the use of renewable energy in warehouses and transport to meet sustainability and environmental protection demands.

Each exhibition booth simulates a modern logistics ecosystem—where AI, smart sensors, and specialized robots are interconnected to create an uninterrupted supply chain flow.

"No longer a future playground, robots and AI are now the present of logistics—and this exhibition is where the intelligent operations landscape is redefined." – Mrs. Chen Lin, Secretary General of GZLPA

What cooperation opportunities do you see between Chinese and Vietnamese logistics companies?

Mrs. Chen Lin: Our geographical proximity and complementary economies make Vietnam and China ideal partners. Vietnam excels in manufacturing and port infrastructure, while China leads in technology and logistics system scale—forming a strong foundation for cross-border logistics projects, green logistics, and joint workforce training.

How do you assess the investment potential in Vietnam’s logistics market?

Mrs. Chen Lin: Very promising. Industrial park growth, stable export performance, and open policies make Vietnam an attractive destination. We look forward to more joint ventures and international logistics hubs in strategic locations such as Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Can Tho.

Vietnam is also actively supporting logistics infrastructure development—investing in seaports, expressways, and industrial zones—to attract foreign investors.

Will there be any thematic forums or seminars at the exhibition?

Mrs. Chen Lin: Yes. Topics include “The Future of Smart Logistics,” “Robot Applications in Supply Chain Management,” and “China-Vietnam Cooperation in the Digital Transformation Era.” These are excellent platforms for academic exchange and sharing successful models.

Many Vietnamese startups are entering the logistics sector. Do you have advice for them at this exhibition?

Mrs. Chen Lin: Come to connect, learn, and showcase your capabilities. The exhibition gathers global companies—providing startups access to new technologies, potential investors, and clearer market directions.

Does GZLPA plan to collaborate with Vietnam through this exhibition?

Mrs. Chen Lin: We plan to establish annual cooperation channels with Vietnamese logistics associations, support member meetups, organize field trips, expert training, and technology sharing—aiming to build an effective and sustainable China–Vietnam logistics corridor.

We also hope to sign cooperation MOUs between logistics companies from both countries, enabling smooth implementation of joint projects and market development.

GZLPA aims to promote strategic collaboration with Vietnamese logistics organizations, beginning with academic programs, seminars, expert exchanges, and potentially moving toward joint ventures in warehousing, cold chain, digital tech, and multimodal transport.

"Cooperation isn’t just about sharing markets—it’s about co-creating cross-border competitiveness." – Mrs. Chen Lin, Secretary General of GZLPA

What are your expectations from the 2025 exhibition for Southeast Asia and Vietnam in particular?

Mrs. Chen Lin: I hope this event will drive digital transformation in regional logistics, allowing Southeast Asian nations to learn, innovate, and expand cooperation together.
