The ceremony was attended by various representatives: Mr. Truong Van Hung, Head of the Tay Ninh Provincial Economic Zone Management Board; Colonel Phung Ngoc Minh, Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Binh, Business Director of SITC Shipping Line; representatives from Saigon Newport Corporation’s units, along with partners, shipping lines, import-export businesses, logistics companies, and trade associations.
Located in the Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone in Loi Thuan Commune, Ben Cau District, Tay Ninh Province, the ICD spans a total area of 16.52 hectares. It is developed by Tan Cang Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company with a total investment of VND 552 billion. The project includes container yards, CFS warehouses, control areas, parking lots, and storage spaces. Equipped with modern facilities, the depot features three RTG 6+1 cranes, five forklifts (for laden and empty containers), 50 tractor heads, and 50 semi-trailers.
Initially, two hectares of the depot will be operational, featuring newly invested equipment, including state-of-the-art empty container forklifts, an advanced communication system, high-speed internet and Wi-Fi to support seamless operation at the ICD. Additionally, a comprehensive security camera system will aid customs and cargo control. Tan Cang Tay Ninh also employs the TTOTS software by TCIS to enhance operational efficiency and digitize port and logistics services.
The SITC shipping line has already integrated its codes, along with several lines under SITC-TC, SNL, SJJ, NOS, ASL, and TCL. With the depot now operational, Tan Cang Tay Ninh plans to collaborate with additional shipping lines to optimize depot usage. Future plans include upgrading and renovating road connections from the project to the zero point for smoother transportation between Cambodia and Vietnam.
As a centralized customs clearance hub, businesses can now complete customs procedures at the Tan Cang Moc Bai ICD, significantly shortening the clearance process at border gates and seaports. This enhances inspection efficiency for import-export goods between Vietnam and Cambodia.
During peak cargo clearance periods, when space at frontline ports is limited, the spacious Tan Cang Moc Bai ICD will serve as an extension of main ports. This helps alleviate congestion and delays at seaports and border gates, promoting international trade and enabling domestic businesses to access foreign markets more efficiently.
