TCIT Welcomes the New Service of the Premier Alliance
The Premier Alliance, restructured from the former THE Alliance, consists of three major shipping lines: Ocean Network Express (ONE), HMM, and Yang Ming. Officially commencing operations in February 2025, the alliance owns a fleet of over 300 container ships with a total capacity of 3 million TEUs and operates 24 service routes connecting Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Mediterranean. With a strategy focused on optimizing shipping solutions, the Premier Alliance aims to minimize supply chain disruptions and ensure seamless connections on critical global trade routes.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Truong Tan Loc, Chairman of TCIT’s Board of Members, this event reflects the dynamic restructuring of the maritime industry in 2025, as major alliances adjust their strategies to enhance competitiveness. “The decision of the Premier Alliance to continue choosing TCIT as its home port and a trusted destination in Cai Mep – Thi Vai after restructuring is a strategic move, helping TCIT achieve long-term development goals and affirm its regional position,” Mr. Loc emphasized.
TCIT – A Trusted Hub for International Shipping Services
The EC3 service, along with PS3, FP2, and MS2, represents four key service routes of the Premier Alliance currently deployed at TCIT. The arrival of the first EC3 vessel not only strengthens the collaboration between TCIT and the alliance members but also reinforces TCIT’s role in connecting Vietnam with global markets.
Currently, TCIT handles 10 international service routes weekly, directly linking Vietnam with key markets such as North America, Europe, and Intra-Asia. As one of the most advanced deep-water ports in the region, TCIT boasts exceptional advantages in accommodating large vessels, handling container operations, and integrating logistics networks. These strengths have positioned TCIT as a reliable hub for leading global shipping lines, contributing positively to local socio-economic development and the sustainable growth of Vietnam’s maritime sector.

Mr. Shotaro Ikeda, General Director of ONE (Vietnam), reaffirmed ONE’s commitment, along with its partners, to closely collaborate with TCIT to enhance service quality, facilitate Vietnam’s trade, and strengthen connections with key global markets".
Development Direction: Expanding Logistics Services Beyond the Port
Looking ahead, TCIT aims not only to maintain its role as a key international transshipment hub but also to expand its logistics services beyond the port. Investment plans for Depot and Inland Container Depot (ICD) facilities in the Cai Mep area are being developed to provide comprehensive logistics solutions, strengthen links between seaports, industrial zones, and production centers. This strategic move is expected to optimize logistics costs and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese goods to access international markets.

The Premier Alliance’s decision to establish TCIT as its main gateway in the Cai Mep – Thi Vai region underscores the trust of global shipping lines in the port’s operational capabilities and services. This not only affirms TCIT’s role in the global supply chain but also paves the way for sustainable development, enhancing Vietnam’s maritime industry’s competitiveness amid deepening international integration.
