SP-ITC receives the first shipping service connecting HCMC to the Middle East

Right in the first month of 2022, Emirates Shipping (ESL), China United Lines (CUL) and Global Feeder Shipping (GFS) (with Global Logistics Services (GLS) acting as local agent) have coordinated to launch the VGI/VGX/SGS service for this trade, the maiden call with m/v GFS Pearl called at SP-ITC on the afternoon of January 18th , 2022.

Using 5 vessels with an average capacity of 2,700 TEU and navigating on the route of SP-ITC - Laem Chabang - Port Kelang (Malaysia) - Sohar (Oman) - Jebel Ali (UAE) - Nhava Sheva (India) - Port Kelang, the VGI/VGX/SGS service calls at key seaports in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and even India. Thereby, this shipping service is expected by carriers to expand their service networks in Asia and provide more diverse connections for shippers in Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

In Vietnam, VGI/VGX/SGS service will help shippers have the opportunity to use direct shipping service to Middle East countries and India, shorten the transit time and increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods. This is good news in the context that the global supply chain is expected to remain quite tense in 2022.

Succesfully receiving VGI/VGX/SGS service, SP-ITC continues to affirm its position as the leading container terminal in Southern Key Economics Area, a reliable destination to help connect Vietnamese goods to the world's leading markets.
