This is the right direction, ensuring sustainable socio-economic development and enhancing the quality of life for the Vietnamese people.

The circular economy model offers numerous outstanding benefits, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam, including Con Dao District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province. Firstly, this model helps minimize waste and environmental pollution by reusing and recycling resources. This not only protects ecosystems and public health but also reduces waste treatment costs. Additionally, the circular economy creates opportunities for the development of the recycling industry and green businesses, contributing to job creation and fostering innovation in the economy.

IMPLEMENTATION ACTIVITIES OF THE PROJECT

- Raising awareness and mobilizing officials, civil servants, members, and the public, as well as the business community, to reduce and eventually eliminate the circulation and use of single-use plastic products and non-biodegradable plastic packaging such as plastic bags and foam food containers by 2025.

- Introducing and encouraging the use of environmentally friendly products to residents, small businesses, and service providers in the district.

- Organizing the project's launch conference in a solemn, economical, practical, and effective manner, fully conveying information about the project.

- Widely publicizing the conference information through mass media.

- Engaging representatives from tourism service businesses, tour guides, taxi drivers, and electric vehicle operators in the district.

- Displaying alternative products to plastic bags and single-use plastic products with the participation of service businesses and small traders at Con Dao Market and the local community.

- Creating strong media effects, mobilizing resources from relevant departments, and promoting and motivating effective implementation of the proposed project activities.

IMPLEMENTATION

According to the Conclusion Notice No. 518/TB-UBND dated July 1, 2024, of the Provincial People's Committee, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee concluded the implementation status of the Project "Research and Application of the Circular Economy Model for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development in Con Dao District, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province for the period 2022 - 2025, with orientation to 2030".

The district People's Committee has issued a plan to organize the Circular Economy Project's launch conference, aiming to raise community and business awareness about reducing the use of single-use plastic products and non-biodegradable plastic packaging. The conference will also display alternative products, such as fabric bags, paper bags, and biodegradable plastic products.
