DHL has opened a new logistics facility in India to support international time-definite delivery volumes.
Located in Pune, the 12,000 square-foot facility can handle 20,000 shipments per month and will reduce transit times, according to DHL, which handled nearly 9 million international shipments for India last year.
Malcolm Monteiro, CEO of South Asia DHL Express, said Pune’s status as an automotive, information and manufacturing hub was driving demand growth.
“We have witnessed a steady and strong growth in business and have a very strong foothold in Pune and the other surrounding key cities including Mumbai, Aurangabad, Ahmednagar and Nashik as the company continues to invest in infrastructure,” he added.
