On 3 July 2026, at Muong Thanh Luxury Saigon Hotel, the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Perth, the Australia Vietnam Talent Network (AVTN) and Global Trade Connection officially announced Vietnamese Culture Day 2026 – “Homeland Colours”, scheduled for 7 November 2026 at Forrest Place in the heart of Perth, Western Australia. The programme is positioned not only as a community cultural event, but also as a meeting point that connects Viet Nam and Australia through culture, cuisine, trade, educat

From a cultural festival to a space for community connection

The launch ceremony took place in a warm and dignified atmosphere, with the online participation of Mr. Pham Hai Anh, Consul General of Viet Nam in Perth, in charge of Western Australia and the Northern Territory, together with representatives of associations, trade promotion organisations and more than 34 Vietnamese enterprises. From the main stage to the product display areas, the event reflected the organisers’ effort to build a programme that carries the tone of cultural diplomacy while remaining close to community life and practical business needs.

In his remarks, Mr. Pham Hai Anh emphasised that Vietnamese Culture Day 2026 is a meaningful activity leading towards the first Viet Nam Culture Day on 24 November 2026. Recalling President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching that “Culture lights the way for the nation”, he described culture as a key that goes ahead, opening doors of cooperation and reaching the hearts of people, businesses and authorities in other countries. From that perspective, the Consul General called on businesses, organisations and individuals to actively support and join the event, helping it become a memorable Vietnamese imprint in Western Australia.

According to Ms. Hannah Huyen Vu, Chairwoman of AVTN, Vietnamese Culture Day is not simply a cultural performance programme. It is a space that connects the community and links generations of overseas Vietnamese with their homeland. At a deeper level, it gives entrepreneurs, professionals and Vietnamese families in Australia a shared platform to express pride in their identity and expand sustainable cooperation between the two countries.

“Viet Nam in Full Colour”: Vietnamese identity in an integrated form

Vietnamese Culture Day 2026 carries the theme “Viet Nam in Full Colour” – a vivid description of a diverse, radiant, friendly and creative Viet Nam. The event is expected to attract more than 5,000 participants at Forrest Place, one of Perth’s iconic public spaces. Its return to this venue after the success of the 2025 community event shows the confidence of local authorities, the community and partners in the programme’s quality, organisational capacity and social significance.

The programme is designed around three open and complementary highlights: colours of culture, colours of cuisine and colours of connection. Cultural colours will be expressed through a stage combining traditional and contemporary arts, ao dai performances, lion dances, modern music and community exchanges. Culinary colours will introduce visitors to regional specialties and traditional dishes from the three regions of Viet Nam. Colours of connection will be represented by a Viet Nam–Australia business exhibition area, product promotion activities, trade networking and meetings among businesses, organisations and multicultural communities in Western Australia.

Vietnamese Culture Day 2026 – “Homeland Colours” is scheduled for 7 November 2026 at Forrest Place in central Perth under the theme “Viet Nam in Full Colour”. The programme aims to welcome more than 5,000 participants and bring together culture, cuisine, artistic performances, business exhibitions and trade networking, thereby promoting the image of a culturally rich, dynamic and integrated Viet Nam.

When culture opens the way for Viet Nam–Australia trade

Alongside the launch ceremony, the Viet Nam–Australia B2B Trade Promotion Conference was also organised at the same venue by AVTN and Global Trade Connection. More than 34 Vietnamese manufacturing, trading and service enterprises joined direct business matching sessions with Australian partners. The panel discussion “Opportunities and Challenges in Bringing Vietnamese Products into the Australian Market” offered an additional forum for experts, entrepreneurs and trade promotion representatives from both countries to discuss market access, standards, distribution capacity, branding and the conditions needed for Vietnamese products to go further.

From the perspective of Ms. Nguyen Trang Ngoc Minh Thu, Chairwoman of Global Trade Connection, every Vietnamese product entering the global market carries not only economic value, but also the image, identity and development aspirations of the Vietnamese nation in a period of integration. This is also the spirit running through the programme: culture is not separated from the economy, identity is not outside trade, and every Vietnamese product, when presented through an authentic, quality-driven and trustworthy story, can become a form of soft ambassador for the country.

The presence of enterprises introducing agricultural products, food, handicrafts, services and connection initiatives at the launch ceremony showed an encouraging movement. Vietnamese businesses are paying closer attention to the Australian market, while recognising that entry into a developed market requires serious preparation. It is not only about price or design, but also about quality standards, traceability, logistics, legal compliance, brand communication and sustained market presence.

Vietnamese Culture Day 2026 – “Homeland Colours” can therefore be seen as a multi-layered connection model: honouring culture, nurturing community, expanding trade and promoting the national image. From Perth, the colours of Viet Nam will not only appear on stage or in culinary booths, but also in the aspiration to reach the world through identity, quality and trust. When culture becomes the starting point of dialogue, trade gains depth; when the Vietnamese community becomes an active bridge builder, Viet Nam–Australia relations gain more sustainable, humane and promising connections.
