At Phuoc An Port on May 13, 2026, the SNP – PAP Customer Conference, themed “Forward Together - Embracing a New Era”, was more than a customer appreciation event gathering over 300 shipping lines, clients and partners. It offered a timely perspective on how a major industrial locality is seeking a new logistics structure for its next stage of growth.

Dong Nai and a New Logistics Momentum

Within Southern Vietnam’s economic structure, Dong Nai is one of the country’s most dynamic industrial, manufacturing and export-oriented areas. After becoming a centrally-governed city, Dong Nai possesses a large economic scale, a leading industrial park system and significant growth potential supported by key infrastructure projects such as Long Thanh International Airport, expressways, ring roads and the logistics corridor connecting Cai Mep - Thi Vai. These elements provide an important foundation for Dong Nai to gradually form an integrated logistics network serving local enterprises while strengthening its role in regional supply chains.

Yet opportunity cannot automatically translate into competitiveness if bottlenecks in port -industrial park - supply chain connectivity remain unresolved. The conference highlighted issues related to transport infrastructure, logistics procedures, policy mechanisms, inland waterway transport and coordination among supply chain stakeholders. In this context, cooperation models with proven operating capabilities, customer networks and integrated service capacity become increasingly essential.

SNP - PAP: Beyond Port Operations

The strength of the cooperation between Saigon Newport Corporation and Phuoc An Port lies in the complementary capacities of the two sides: one brings proven operational experience, an extensive network and a mature service ecosystem; the other offers a strategic location in a fast-industrializing area. Saigon Newport Corporation was established on March 15, 1989 and has developed across key pillars including port operation, logistics services, transportation and maritime services, while being recognized as a leading enterprise in port operation, logistics and marine economic sectors in Vietnam.

SNP currently operates 16 port facilities in strategic economic zones and maintains operational relations and contracts with more than 100 shipping lines and shipping agents worldwide. In logistics, SNP positions itself as a provider of logistics and supply chain management solutions, with an emphasis on technology application and green logistics. These foundations enable the SNP - PAP cooperation to go beyond the opening of an additional port point; it creates the possibility of forming a new link within the port - ICD - transport - warehousing - integrated logistics network of Southern Vietnam.

As early as March 2025, the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Phuoc An Port to expand the port and logistics ecosystem in Southern Vietnam. Cooperation in port operations, logistics and depot services was described as a strategic vision associated with sustainable development and stronger competitiveness. Looking at the results after more than a year, the figures of 8 shipping lines, 7 service routes, 197 vessel calls and 190,642 TEUs indicate that the market has begun to respond positively to this cooperation structure.

From Service Connectivity to Co-Creation of Value

At a deeper level, the 2026 SNP – PAP Customer Conference reflects an important shift in Vietnam’s logistics sector: from competition among individual port locations to competition among ecosystems. As logistics costs remain a key pressure for import-export enterprises, a new port can only create true value when it is effectively connected with industrial parks, transport routes, customs procedures, warehousing, depots, forwarding services and digitalized operations.

In recent years, Saigon Newport has promoted the message of building a green logistics ecosystem and sustainable global connectivity. By combining modern port infrastructure and digital technology, the corporation provides end-to-end logistics solutions while working toward greenhouse gas emission reduction and greener global supply chains. This direction is aligned with the evolving requirements of global supply chains, where speed, cost, transparency and environmental responsibility are now simultaneous standards of competitiveness.

On Phuoc An Port’s side, the press release highlights its commitment to comprehensive strategic cooperation with Saigon Newport, becoming an extended arm and an important link in the SNP ecosystem. Through this cooperation, PAP aims to optimize logistics costs, leverage regional connectivity and create practical value for shipping lines, customers and import-export enterprises. This approach reflects the development trend of modern ports: beyond handling cargo at berths, ports must participate in organizing cargo flows across the entire region.

A notable feature of the conference was the spirit of “partnership” expressed throughout the event, from the theme and presentations to the customer appreciation activities. Images of the two companies’ leaders standing with partners on stage, the recognition of outstanding customers and the moments of handshakes and gift presentations conveyed a soft but essential message: in logistics, trust is a form of infrastructure. When customers trust operational capability, shipping lines trust cargo volume and service stability, and localities trust the leading role of port enterprises, a new ecosystem can develop sustainably.

The cooperation between Saigon Newport and Phuoc An Port goes beyond a customer event. It is an example of how a leading port operator can expand ecosystem capacity while working with localities and partners to address regional connectivity challenges. If commitments to infrastructure investment, service quality improvement, wider connectivity, operational innovation and enterprise partnership are implemented consistently, SNP – PAP can become a noteworthy model for logistics development in Southern Vietnam.

The conference has concluded, but the message “Forward Together – Embracing a New Era” opens a longer journey. For Saigon Newport, it is a journey to further affirm the leadership of a Vietnamese port and logistics brand. For Phuoc An Port, it is an opportunity to position itself as a strategic link in Dong Nai’s emerging logistics structure. For the business community, it is an expectation of more efficient service routes, more competitive logistics costs and an ecosystem capable of supporting growth in a new phase.
