Reporting to the shareholders' meeting, the SASCO board of directors assessed the global economic context in 2022 facing the challenges of multidimensional crises. The Vietnamese economy is gradually recovering strongly with a high growth rate. SASCO, in particular, has marked an impressive comeback after two years of heavy impact from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Anticipating the recovery opportunity of the aviation industry, SASCO has restructured its product and service offerings and developed new services to best meet market demand. The company has also embraced digital transformation to operate more efficiently and optimize customer experience.
At the beginning of 2022, SASCO opened two SASCO SHOP shopping areas (with a total area of over 1,000 m2) featuring unique Vietnamese culture and diverse products from various regions at domestic and international terminals. The company also launched the first Halal-certified Jasmine waiting lounge in Vietnam with an elegant and warm atmosphere, a separate prayer room, and Mediterranean-style cuisine prepared according to Halal standards. The Jasmine waiting lounge has been highly praised by passengers for its cultural and religious sensitivity. Additionally, SASCO opened The Phoenix bistro-style restaurant, creating a fresh culinary space within the company's unique ecosystem.
Committed to its sustainable partnership strategy and business goals aligned with the United Nations' sustainable development objectives, SASCO also executes social responsibility through various practical community programs such as "Guiding children's steps to school" scholarship for disadvantaged students and "Taking care of young plants" (Planting Green Seeds) providing bicycles, warm clothes, and forest planting.
With the efforts of the entire team, in 2022, SASCO comprehensively achieved sustainable economic targets: Total revenue in 2022 reached VND 1,497 billion, equivalent to 117.7% of the plan, and increased by 247.3% compared to the same period in 2021. Profit before tax reached VND 230 billion, equivalent to 280.5% of the plan and increased by 7,566.7% compared to the same period in 2021.
In 2022, SASCO was honored for the 4th time as a National Brand of Vietnam; for the 7th consecutive year, it achieved the top 10 Sustainable Development Enterprises; it was listed among the Top 50 Attractive Employer Brands and the Top 10 reputable retail companies.
Sustainable partnership is not only a comprehensive summary of SASCO's dedication and efforts in 2022, but also a commitment to continuing close collaboration towards sustainable development, balancing economic, social, and environmental objectives to bring the highest benefits to stakeholders.
In 2023, based on ACV's estimated passenger traffic plan and SASCO's entire business operations being restored, the company will set targets for production and business in 2023, exceeding those of 2022. Specifically: Total revenue: VND 2,363 billion, up 58% compared to 2022; profit before tax: VND 273.6 billion, up 19% compared to 2022.
2023 also marks an important year, celebrating 30 years of construction and growth of SASCO. It can be seen as a Marvelous Journey, from the first bricks that SASCO laid as a foundation for the aviation service industry, overcoming all challenges to become the leading airport commercial service provider in Vietnam and the region.
Accompanying the challenges and opportunities, building on the achievements of 2022, SASCO will achieve the goals of the 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, continuing to execute its mission of sustainable development: serving customers with dedication, standing by the employees, supporting the community, and accompanying the prosperity of the country.
