Guangzhou Actively Seeks Vietnamese Partners

On June 2, a Vietnamese delegation comprising representatives from business associations and enterprises in logistics, industrial real estate, and technology held an official meeting with GZLPA in Guangzhou, China.

The Vietnamese delegation included Dr. Le Van Hy, Director of the International Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain (IILS) and Vice Chairman cum Secretary General of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (HCM-SME); Dr. Truong Gia Bao, Vice Chairman cum Secretary General of the Vietnam Industrial Real Estate Club (VNREA) and representative of FPT Corporation; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Executive Committee Member of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), Deputy Director of IILS, and CEO of U&I Logistics; and Mr. Tran Huu Hoa, Executive Committee Member of HCM-SME, Director of IILS and Director of Navitic Technology.

Unlike many traditional business missions, this time it was not Vietnamese enterprises seeking opportunities. Instead, Guangzhou businesses proactively presented concrete cooperation demands.

According to GZLPA, its member companies are currently seeking Vietnamese partners in four key sectors: automated warehousing and AMR robotics; cold-chain solutions for agricultural exports; digital logistics management systems (WMS/TMS) tailored for SMEs; and industrial real estate and bonded warehouse development supporting cross-border supply chains.

The initiative reflects Guangdong’s growing need to establish stronger logistics links in Vietnam amid the rapid expansion of cross-border e-commerce and agricultural exports.

Opportunities Within One of Asia’s Leading Logistics Ecosystems

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Chen Lin, Secretary General of GZLPA, emphasized that Guangdong possesses strong advantages in technology, manufacturing capacity, and market size but requires local partners who understand Vietnamese products and market dynamics.

Industry experts attending the meeting viewed this as a positive signal for Vietnamese businesses, as one of Asia’s leading logistics hubs is actively seeking long-term partnerships rather than merely transactional business relationships.

Beyond exporting logistics services, Vietnamese enterprises have the opportunity to participate more deeply in the value chain through cold storage development, logistics technology solutions, operational management, and infrastructure investment supporting regional trade flows.

Bridging the Capability Gap to Enter a Billion-Dollar Supply Chain

Assessing the prospects for cooperation, Dr. Le Van Hy noted that geographical distance is no longer the primary challenge.

To capitalize on these opportunities, businesses are encouraged to evaluate their existing capabilities, particularly in cold-chain logistics, logistics technology, packaging solutions, automation, and supply chain management software.

In addition, companies should prepare standardized corporate profiles in Vietnamese, English, and Chinese to meet the requirements of prospective partners in Guangzhou. HCM-SME and IILS are expected to organize specialized B2B matchmaking programs during the third quarter of 2026, enabling Vietnamese enterprises to engage directly with GZLPA member companies.

As regional supply chains continue to undergo significant restructuring, the meeting at LET-a CeMAT ASIA 2026 marks an important starting point for Vietnamese SMEs seeking deeper integration into the multi-billion-dollar logistics ecosystem connecting Vietnam and Guangdong Province.
