(VLR) The COVID-19 pandemic has been exerting enormous pressure on health systems worldwide in general and Quang Ngai province. To contribute to sharing that burden of the health sector in the province, Doosan Vina in collaboration with Chung Ang University, Korea (CAU) and Community Chest of Korea has donated two medical equipment packages worth nearly 1.7 billion VND for two major hospitals of Quang Ngai province including Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital, and Hospital for Women and Children.

On the afternoon of March 15, 2022, the representatives of Doosan Vina presented two packages of medical equipment including 01 Cobas E411 immunoassay machine system worth 1.4 billion VND to the Provincial General Hospital and 02 electrocardiograms with 3 rods, 01 set of intubations with camera, and 01 HP infection diagnosis machine worth nearly 300 million VND to Quang Ngai Hospital for Women and Children. Total support for both hospitals is 1.698 billion VND (74,300 USD).

These are the most modern and advanced medical equipment imported from USA, Japan, Korea contributing to improving the examination, diagnosis, and treat diseases effectively as well as creating opportunities for patients to have a better condition for health care service.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Huynh Gioi, Director of Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital deeply thanked Doosan Vina, CAU, and Community Chess of Korea for accompanying the provincial departments, agencies, and hospitals in medical examination and treatment as well as taking care of people's health for the past years. After completing the reception procedures, the hospital will quickly put this medical equipment into service for medical examination and treatment.

Despite being negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Doosan Vina has always made efforts and joined hands with the provincial leaders and local people to overcome the difficult period. In 2021, Doosan Vina supported 2.3 billion VND to purchase medical equipment for treating COVID-19 patients at Quang Ngai’s field hospital number 3 and contributed 200 million VND to the provincial epidemic prevention fund.

Since its establishment, Doosan Vina has cooperated with Chung Ang University Hospital to implement the technology transfer programs for the medical team of Quang Nam Central General Hospital, Quang Ngai Provincial General Hospital, and Quang Ngai Hospital for Women and Children; Donated medical equipment to many hospitals; Organized medical examination and distribution, surgery for congenital heart disease, cleft lip and palate, cataracts, obstetrics, and gynecology, and so on for 25,618 turns of people with a total estimated budget of over 1.7 million USD (or nearly 40 billion VND).
