The Mekong Delta- the largest granary of the country- has had serious impacts from drought and salinity intrusion. In the spring-winter harvest, 8 coastal provinces of the Mekong Delta as Long An, Tien Giang, Ca Mau, Tra Vinh, Kien Giang, Ben Tre, Bac Lieu and Hau Giang started planting in 971,200 ha (62.2% rice-planting areas), among which 339,234ha facing drought and salinity intrusion (35,51% planting area of the coastal). The aqua-product processing sector is facing the lack of materials. It is initially estimated that farmer in the Mekong Delta suffered the loss of over VND 1,000bn

These incidents has had impacts on lives of millions of people. To get over, there should be a cooperation from people, the Party, and the business community with the on-time and effective management from the Government. “To carry out successfully targets and duties of social- economic developments, to speed up the progress of innovation and international integration…” as pledged by new Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in his inauguration speech on April 4th, 2016 at the National Assembly.

We expect to overcome challenges with the spirit of unification and to create motivation force on the way to prosperity.
