This is a lesson from the history of nation-building and preservation. The Resolution of the 13th Party Congress identified 6 key tasks and 3 strategic breakthroughs in its term, of which "Building a comprehensive and modern infrastructure system, both economically and socially," is the third "strategic breakthrough."
In the development orientation of key industries in Ba Ria - Vung Tau (BRVT), there are maritime and logistics services. Regarding this matter, the Government states: "Continuing to develop and modernize the Cai Mep - Thi Vai International Gateway Port into a major international transshipment port, with regional and international scale; linked with the economic corridor of Moc Bai - Ho Chi Minh City - Bien Hoa - Vung Tau and the trans-Asia economic corridor, the primary maritime gateway of the Southeast region," (Decision No. 1629/QD-TTg).
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Freeway project has a total length of 53.7km; the total investment for phase 1 is about 17.837 trillion VND. The project is divided into 3 component projects. Component project 3 with a length of about 19.5 km passes through Ba Ria - Vung Tau province with an estimated total investment of about 5.190 trillion VND, of which compensation, support, resettlement costs are about 1.333 trillion VND.
Starting point of component project 3: Km34+200, at To Dinh Nguyet Street, Phuoc Binh Commune (Long Thanh District, Dong Nai Province), adjacent to Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. The endpoint is at the intersection of National Highway 56 in Hoa Long Commune (Ba Ria City).
The Phuoc An bridge project connects the port access road with Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province - where it connects important routes such as Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3; connects Binh Duong with the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port area through Dong Nai. Meanwhile, the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Freeway will expedite the transportation of goods from the Mekong Delta, Dong Nai to adjacent areas and the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster, facilitating the socio-economic development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai, and the entire Southeast - Southwest region.
Equally important, these transportation projects serve as catalysts, driving development. In the near future, BRVT will have "a synchronized transportation system, forming a seamless and safe transportation network," (Decision No. 1629/QD-TTg), promoting the development of various economic sectors.
In the upcoming period, BRVT will continue to collaborate with central ministries and sectors to establish a cargo inspection center at Cai Mep - Thi Vai, combined with a free trade center.
Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW on socio-economic development and national defense and security assurance of the Southeast region by 2030, with a vision to 2045, determines that by 2030, BRVT will become a national maritime economic center, including maritime tourism. Decision 1629/QD-TTg identifies "Developing Ba Ria - Vung Tau into a high-quality tourism center, nationally and internationally."
Accordingly, along the provincial road DT994 from Vung Tau to Binh Chau, an economic tourism dynamic axis will be formed, creating a connecting belt for tourism development with provinces in the Southeast region, Mekong Delta, Central Highlands, and provinces in the South Central region. Developing the Long Hai - Phuoc Hai and Ho Tram - Binh Chau national tourist areas, with a range of products including island resort tourism, high-quality sports and entertainment tourism, cultural and ecological tourism, real estate, health recovery tourism, agricultural and rural tourism.
Developing a chain of coastal tourism cities, including Vung Tau, Long Hai, Phuoc Hai, Ho Tram, and Binh Chau, towards green urban areas; superior urban infrastructure and living environment compared to other cities in the Southeast region. Developing Vung Tau City into a high-quality international-level tourism center. Developing the Con Dao national tourist area based on high-quality tourism models, focusing on biodiversity conservation, preservation, and promotion of the values of special national historical relics.
Transportation infrastructure has been and continues to provide a "boost" to the province's tourism economy. Many economic experts acknowledge that the coastal route from Vung Tau City through Long Hai (Long Dien district) to Binh Chau (Xuyen Moc district) still has a large land reserve for Ba Ria - Vung Tau to develop high-quality, internationally renowned tourism. This serves as a driving force for the province's development. Many large-scale international investors will come to this area once the province establishes the 994 route. Currently, investors are actively exploring this area.
With high determination and the concerted efforts of the political system, the close attention of the Government, it is expected that the implementation progress of projects in BRVT will be on schedule. The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Freeway, coastal roads, and the bridge crossing Thi Vai River when completed will turn dreams into reality, reducing travel time between BRVT and other areas in the Southeast - Southwest region, opening up many new development opportunities.
