Favorable location, flexible policies

The International Container Terminal SP-ITC is located in Phu Huu Ward, Dist.9, HCMC. The terminal is surrounded by a main road transportation network conveniently connecting to Southern industrial parks in Binh Duong, Dong Nai and BR-VT… The connection to key roads connecting directly to ports as Hanoi Highway, HCMC - Long Thanh - Dau Giay, Boundary Road 2, and Phu My Bridge Road facilitates goods transportation from various directions. Especially, those roads do not going through downtown area, which makes transportation easier and is able to avoid congestions.

Besides favorable location for goods transportation among areas, SP-ITC has been applying flexible policies to meet customers’ needs. The terminal is currently under management and inspection of Customs Branch Office of Section 1- the same customs section with Cat Lai Terminal. Experienced customs officers always facilitate clearance conditions and goods release procedures to customers. Depends on requirements, customers have been able to do customs procedures either at Cat Lai Terminal or SP-ITC for goods being discharged at either two locations. If your B/L mention POD is CAT LAI, but cargo actually discharged at SP-ITC or vice versa, you still can do customs clearance, no need to amend B/L or Cargo Manifest..

SP-ITC was chosen by the Ministry of Finance and General Department of Vietnam Customs to be the first container terminal in HCMC to apply the Customs Automated Management and Inspection System on import-export and transshipment goods in accordance to the Decision no.2772/QĐ-BTC dated December 29, 2017. On the basis of the program, from January 2nd, 2018, after open declaration form on VASSCM/ VNACCS/ VCIS, customers’ consignments will be handled on customs system, and then customs inspection system will sent data of the consignments to SP-ITC’s system to release or receive them.

The applying of the Automated E-Declaration System helps customers carry out procedures of declaration and clearance faster through the account EPORT.SP-ITC. COM.VN, which helps reduce time and paperwork. The terminal has had received positive feedbacks about the system and positive customer policies from large customers as Intimex and Dohaco…

Large shipping companies’ trusted partner

After a year of operation, from first success of providing terminal services to local shipping companies as Gemadept, GLS, and Hai An, SP-ITC has received cooperation and trust from foreign ones as MSC, CMACGM, EVERGREEN, HUYNDAI and TAICANG since May, 2017. The terminal just received experimental vessels from MAERSK.

There has been an increase in exploitation of over 400% compared to the first days and there have been more destinations: in the past, there were vessels with destinations to Europe, America and transshipments at Malaysia or Singapore; now, there have been vessels with destination to China, Thailand (from Taicang), to Korea (Huyndai) or to Taiwan (Evergreen)

With large berths, SP-ITC has weekly received a number of vessels of bulk cargo, steel or equipment, which is in the plan of making good use of SP-ITC’s berths to provide various choices to various customers. Besides, the terminal has provided barge service to connect SPITC to ports in Cai Mep area, facilitating customers’ consolidation to distance routes to European and American countries…

Keep improving for customers’ services

Roadmap of improving berths and infrastructures has always been paid attention to by SP-ITC Board of leaders. In the second phase, the terminal focuses on improving categories on infrastructures, container yard, main berth, barge berth… and the expansion of Nguyen Duy Trinh St.: a section of Nguyen Duy Trinh St. connecting Phu Huu/ Boundary Road 2 roundabout to SP-ITC with the length of 1.6km is being upgrading from 2 lanes to 6 lanes with the width of 30 meters. The expansion project of Nguyen Duy Tring St. with the investment capital of VND 930bn was submitted by ITC group and then approved by the Government and the People’s Committee of HCMC.

The expansion of Nguyen Duy Trinh St was put in priority and the new street is expected to solve the problem of congestions in Cat Lai area.
